Sony first introduced the TCD-D10 portable DAT recorder in 1992. It borrows many of the design elements from the successful TC-D5 cassette recorder with the same quality, user friendliness and durable metal body construction. Unlike most portable DAT recorders, the TCD-D10 used a full-size drum assembly found in the PCM-2000 DAT recorder. It also used the same motor from Sony’s high-end DTC-1000ES DAT deck. Despite the fact that it weighted approximately 2 kg and carried a high price, the TCD-D10 was very popular. Between 1992 ~ 1998 Sony released two enhanced versions of the TCD-10, the TCD-D10 Pro and the TCD-D10 Pro II.
The TCD-10 is powered by the ACP-85E power adaptor.
