Playback support for all Betacam formats
The SONY MSW-M2000P is a Broadcast-grade, multi-format VTR capable of playing virtually every Betacam variant – from 1st gen analog Oxide and SP tapes to Digital Betacam, Betacam SX, and IMX. As one of the most versatile broadcast-quality machines ever built for Betacam preservation, it remains a critical asset for institutions tasked with digitizing large and diverse videotape collections. Essentially, the MSW-M2000P is the Broadcast-class version to the popular Betacam J-30 SDI, offering similar format compatibility at superior playback performance.
In terms of compatibility, the MSW-M2000P supports playback of the following formats:
- Original Betacam (oxide)
- Betacam SP
- Digital Betacam
- Betacam SX
- MPEG IMX
This wide compatibility makes it the ideal choice for workflows that require format flexibility without switching between multiple machines.
