The Panasonic-AU-63H MII is a professional-grade MII video recorder from Panasonic’s second-generation lineup. Built to compete with SONY’s Betacam SP, this unit delivers high-quality analog component recording. Although MII never saw widespread adoption, the Panasonic-AU-63H-MII remains a critical machine for playing back and digitizing unstable MII tapes.

Why MII tape playback is challenging

Reproducing MII tapes is rarely straightforward. Compared to Betacam, the MII format suffers from more frequent mechanical and signal issues. This makes equipment condition absolutely critical. If you’re planning to preserve content from MII cassettes, you need a deck that’s fully serviced and stable. Read more about it here.

Refurbished MII machines in stock

In addition to the AU-63H, we currently stock several other refurbished MII decks:

  • Panasonic AU-W33H, AU-W35H, AU-62HE, AU-65H.

  • JVC KR-M545E, KR-M800E, KR-M860E

All recorders are restored with a fully serviced PSU (Power Supply Unit), new belts, pinch rollers, and full internal cleaning. Some models feature internal TBCs, which significantly enhance signal stability during playback.
