Betacam SP

Betacam SP, introduced in the mid-1980s, was an enhanced version of the original Betacam format. It featured a 1/2-inch tape with a superior metal particle coating, offering improved picture quality, color fidelity, and signal stability. Betacam SP quickly became the industry standard for professional video production, particularly in television and film. It was widely used for news, commercials, and studio productions until being superseded by digital formats.
