We have many U-matic BVU units in stock.
Delivery with existing drum, or with a new upper drum and 90 day limited warranty are some of the options.
Generally speaking we replace some electronic components, perform software updates, install a new pinch roller assembly, new idler drive wheels, new belts and lubricate and calibrate the machine. After this process our VTR’s meet or even exceed the original factory specifications.

The BVU-920P incorporates SONY’s Superior Performance (SP) technology, to offer higher picture quality and dubbing capability, while remaining compatible with earlier high-band U-matic.
It also features a plug-in wide window time base corrector and time code generator/reader options. It was one of the first VTRs to use the search dial for setting and displaying time code diagnostics, VTR functions and much more. Improved audio performance is guaranteed by adoption of Dolby C noise reduction for SP tapes, with auto-detection/activation on playback.
What is the prominent difference between the mechanics of a BVU-920P and a VO-9850P and why is this important?
The BVU-920P uses two reel motors as compared to one. This allows for better control of tape tension and speed.
